Relationships are important in life, not just in business. However, many people discount the utter importance of strong business relationships. Why is this do you think?

There are many reasons why people sometimes do not develop good relationships in their businesses. Perhaps, it’s because they don’t value their customers enough. Maybe it’s because they have inadequacies and fear retribution. Who knows really? All I can tell you, is that if any of these scenarios are true for you, you are in deep trouble my friend.

So, why is relationship important in business? Well, it’s really quite simple. People who like each other, do business together. People who do not like each other, won’t. So building relationships should be in the forefront of your mind if you want to build a successful business.

Trusting One Another

It really is quite a scary world out there. Unfortunately, there are many who will do you harm. Some people will lie to you, steal from you and cheat you. Others will betray you, hurt you and even sabotage you. So, you ask why is relationship important in business? Because you need to be able to trust.

One thing I have learned in the past 23 years is that there is always going to be someone who wants to tear you down. That is why It’s important to find people who want to lift you up. Choosing carefully the people you do business with, trusting your gut reaction and going with who you build trust with is a much less dangerous road to travel.

So, be aware of the false folks. The ones who befriend you, just to gain from you. Those who would betray you, and those who would do something to harm your business. Work with those who show you respect, and who you know can be trusted.

Helping One Another

Here’s another thing I’ve noticed. Good people LOVE to help others. The good news is, that most of the people you will come across are inherently good. I know, that’s a bit of a relief right? Especially after the last section. So, why is relationship important in business? Simple, you want relationships with those who can help you.

The key metric here is to find people who you can work with, who can help you in the areas that you find challenging. We are all good at different things, so it’s only fair to say that other people will be better at certain things than you right? So, why not put an emphasis on developing relationships in these areas? That way you’ll be able to conquer even more challenges, and maybe even learn a new skill or two.

Supporting One Another

Why is relationship important in business? Because as mentioned above, it’s a scary world out there. You want to surround yourself with those people who are going to support you. Hold you up. Keep you accountable. These relationships are some of the most important ones you may ever create.

Having been in business for so long, I’ve come across all different types of people, and, yes, you guessed it relationships. Some of the most memorable, and still prominent in my life are the supportive relationships. I have a handful of beautiful women around Australia who would literally drop everything if I needed them to. I would do the same for them too. None of these women are in the same field as I am, which makes it awesome because we can help one another in those different areas I mentioned above.
